River Gallery is hosting a national juried exhibit October 1 through 31, 2019 titled Book Arts and Letters.
The focus of the exhibit will be to present work of Book Arts as well as two-dimensional or three-dimensional artwork with writing as part of the body of the work.
Two-dimensional or three-dimensional work may be in any of the traditional media: paint, ink, graphite, mixed media, fiber, printmaking, clay as long as lettering (in any language or non-language) is part of the work. Of course calligraphy is welcome. No video or performance art at this time.
Book Arts may include any traditional or non-traditional book forms (hand crafted or altered). They do not need to contain any writing or images, although they are not discouraged. Commercially published books are not included.
Work may not have been exhibited previously at River Gallery.
All work must be for sale.
All accepted work must be ready to hang or exhibit.
Artists may submit up to 3 pieces. A jury fee of $10 will be charged for each piece or 3 pieces may be submitted for $25. Only digital images will be juried. They must be jpgs, 300 dpi, not to exceed 1800 pixels in any direction.

Submissions as well as jury fees must be received at River Gallery on or before September 6th, 2019. Work submitted without the jury fee will not be juried.
Notification of acceptance will be sent via email to participants on or before September 16, 2019. Work that is accepted must be delivered to River Gallery between September 17 and September 28, 2019, between the hours of noon and 4pm. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
River Gallery will retain 40% of sale price; 60% will be remitted to the artist. Any unsold work will be available for pickup after the show closes October 31. Shipped work must include a pre-paid receipt for the return of work. Any work not picked up by November 29, 2019 will be considered the property of River Gallery.
River Gallery will insure work only while it is on exhibit. The delivery and pick up is the responsibility of the artist.
